Seaweed and a comb-over

Island life can sometimes be a bit of a challenge for a fashionista (not exactly sure that I qualify as that, but hey you get what I mean). The other morning we had a fresh wind blowing and the high tide had left a fine trail of seaweed across the road. The outfit of the day shows my only concession to the wild weather. Not exactly wet-gear and wellies, but a cosy sweater at least. And just because it's a dull day, it doesn't mean my outfit needs to be dull!

A splash of orange

There's nothing like a splash of orange to cheer me up, as you can cleary see. The handbag of the day is my everyday bag, but looking somewhat fabulous all the same. The location for our photoshoot is as breezy as ever giving my hair a styling that no product could possibly deliver, and I may have overdone the accessories, but hey, it was fun.

Another sweet handbag

I'm reviving my long forgotten handbags at the moment and this one is a perfect ploy for my stylish new Boden trousers. The bright morning made me want to have a fresh feel to today's outfit and the white shirt is the perfect backdrop for my favourite Vivienne Westwood pendant (I think this will probably feature in a lot of posts, so apologies in advance). And let's not forget to mention my signature footwear. I was actually recognised while having my hair washed at the hairdressers recently just by my brogues. "I knew it was you", my neighbour said after sitting down, "these brogues had to be yours!"

Tartan - it's in my blood!

The first photos for the new blog and the British weather is doing it's best to spoil our fun. Getting dressed up for work is a great excuse to keep expanding my wardrobe and throws up some surprises even for me. I've paired up much loved tartan tights with this amazing vintage handbag that I found in a retro shop in Ireland a few years ago. And thanks to the Fabulous Fashionistas I treated myself to these Dr Martens when they showed me I wasn't too old to wear them. Rain clearly didn't stop play this time.
