Next stop Malta, then across the Med to Barcelona.

Here we are coming into Valletta, Malta. It was a beautiful sunny morning, ideal for a trip out and about. We watched the docking procedure from our balcony and then went off on a sightseeing tour around the island on an open topped bus.

This lift is a great location for snaps, but only if you manage to keep the door open to stop the background blurring as you whizz off!

Skirt: Boden. Sweater: Uniqlo. Blouse: charity shop. Sandals: New Zealand. Handbag: Rome. Watch: charity shop.

The ship was huge. We didn't see all of it by any means, but what we did see was pretty impressive.

Another evening, another outfit. This skirt is much prettier than it seems - it's got a sheer, but shiny sparkly overskirt, and the underskirt finishes at mid thigh. I like this racy combination, as it's not too obvious and yet feels really girly. These shoes ended up being my go-to shoes for almost the entire cruise. They seemed to work with so many ensembles, and I just adore them.

Skirt: TK Maxx. Blouse: charity shop. Shoes: Primark. Clutch: TK Maxx. Turquoise bangle: gift. Turquoise ring: old. Watch: charity shop. Silver ring: charity shop.

Our day in Barcelona

Today was Steve's day. And being a huge football fan that meant a trip to the stadium aka Camp Nou.  We hopped on another open topped bus and headed off.

I'm not much of a football fan myself, but seeing all of the trophies, dressing rooms, commentary box and stadium was quite enlightening - I think I get it now what all the excitement is about. Apologies if I've included too many of these snaps, but I just wanted to give the flavour of the moment.

Jacket: Vero Moda. Trousers: H&M. Shoes: Office. Waistcoat: Uniqlo. Silver ring:charity shop.

The bus tour took us past some of the Gaudi buildings. The city has so many important buildings created by the artist - I think you could easily spend a week just visiting these alone.

Tonight was another gala evening. My ballgown had suffered a malfunction when I was packing but after a bit of work, I finally managed to fix it ready for this dressing up occasion.

I liked using the lift as my own private photo set. The lighting was great even without a flash.

Looking back at this photograph I think I maybe could have worn a stronger/brighter lipstick. This peachy tone seemed fine but it does look a bit washed out now.
Dress: eBay. Shoes: Primark. Necklace: Magpie Vintage. Watch: charity shop. Yellow ring: Martin James. Sparkly ring: charity shop. Clutch: Santa Cruz.

I couldn't help adding this photo of Steve in his James Bond suit. Scrubs up well, doesn't he? (I worry he may get more fan mail than me though, hahaha.)

On Sunday I'll be showing the last post of the final leg of our trip. Hope you will join me for the final round up.

  1. Anna...you look incredible in that green dress! It makes me smile to see you as a tourist in such colorful outfits! I get so bored of the "travel articles" that say to keep everything neutral! jodie

    1. Thanks Jodie x The green dress has to be the star of my whole criuse wardrobe. And to think I only paid £17 for it on eBay! I really don't do neutrals as they make my personality just drain away. The more colour I wear, the more fun I have x

  4. You both look smashing!

I am blown away with your outfits. Seriously that green dress!!! And both the previous skirts are gorgeous.

I'd love to borrow that entire first outfit.

It has been so long since I was last in Malta and Barcelona so it was fun seeing your photos here. I must say though, the stadium was not on my list of places to visit! Haha!

  5. Ooh, I love all your outfits - you look so much more put-together than I do when I travel! Love that striped skirt and the sheer/sparkly one, and your green gown is awesome! I agree - would have gone with a brighter lippy. Thank you for all the fab pics!

    1. Yep, I missed a trip with the lippy that day, but lesson learned for the next time. The last minute packing did end up being a bit chaotic so I'm delighted that some good outfits did emerge from the case after all x

    1. Aw thank you Kezzie x It was lovely to dress up every day as well as every evening, but my wardrobe couldn't sustain that for much longer. I'd happily go back and spend more time in any of the locations we visited x

  7. Well, if that green gown is malfunctioning here - goodness only knows what it's capable of when firing on all cylinders!!!
Before I'd scrolled down sufficiently to read the description of your skirt, I could see it had something ethereal going on :)
    Isn't Primark fab?

    1. What actually happened is the zip did that crazy thing where it eats up the fabric alongside and won't move. I hastily packed it and when I had a quiet moment managed to ease the material out to free the zip up again. Such a relief as it was destined to be the star of the show. Simply Primark, Simply Fab - could be a new bit of branding for them.

  8. Packing for a trip like this is not that easy and you've gotten it all so right. Gosh. Every outfit is right on point. You must have been the belle of the ball in the green gown with your floral pumps and I love the stripedy skirt outfit, right down to the sandals.

    1. Connie thank you for the lovely compliments. There were some outfits that I took which didn't get worn but on the whole it worked out ok. I might have swapped a couple of dresses for evening skirts if I'd thought it through a bit better. I like that striped skirt ensemble too x

    1. I must admit, that green gown does make me feel very Hollywoood. It's so far removed from everyday life, you can't help but feel totally glamorous. The trousers are new and will be featured with the brogues again soon x

  10. Holy cow! You guys look smashing! You must have been the best-dressed woman on board. Your colourful striped skirt is gorgeous, and your silver shoes look like that gold trophy shoe. Hahaha! And the sparkly skirt and green gown... So much fun! I'm glad you got this time out. Probably your lipstick in real life looked perfect - photos wash everything out (thank goodness or I'd like REALLY garish!) Thanks for these shots.

They went well with that sparkly sheer skirt too. And I forgot to mention I think your Rome bag is such a steal. So cute. I think I would have bought it as well. And it goes with everything. 1. I was so lucky to come across that green gown, and for it to fit as well as it does, well sheer luck again. The shoes have been such a great buy already and I do hope they don't fall to bits before I can wear them to the summer shows at work. And hubby, well I was bloomin' lucky there too!

  13. Oh where do I begin! So much to enjoy. That gorgeous striped Boden skirt - I want it! Then the TKMaxx skirt. I knew immediately where it was from as I almost bought the navy version last summer - wish I had now seeing how lovely it looks on you. Darn it that I didn't! Then that fabulous green dress with those floral heels. Swit swoo.
