Sunday mish mash

Apologies for this mish mash post, but I'm having a weekend away. I've lined this up as a bit of a stopgap until I get back to you on Wednesday. I thought I'd use up some of my stock of island views in the hope that you might enjoy the scenery. In addition I've recently had a visit from my friend Kate so here we are in our latest swimwear after an evening swim just before I left for the mainland. Wishing you all a lovely, relaxing weekend and I hope to have something new and perhaps not-so-new to show you on my return.

Thanks for dropping by. It's great to have your company and I do hope you've enjoyed this post.

  1. On an island like this you are on holiday all the time. Beautiful.
And I think you two look very good in your swimgear. Applaus for posting them.

  2. I'm very fortunate to live on such a beautiful island. I love to share these happy times with Kate as it can be empowering to have a hobby that most men shy away from, yet we so thoroughly enjoy. Thanks for your comments Greetje x

  4. Yes, this island may be small, but it's so beautiful - hence my wish to share it with my readers. I'm really lucky to live here and don't ever take these views for granted. Thanks for your lovely comments. I had a great time away and will be featuring my spoils tomorrow x

    1. Tessa I bought it from Wiggle website and it's by Arena. I call it my "company" swimsuit as it keeps me photo ready in any company - no worries about revealing too much flesh with this suit!

  6. These are great photos of you and your friend Kate. What I love most is your swimsuit! I am a huge fan of suits with shorts for the legs. How can you be comfortable if you swimsuit keeps creeping up your derriere, right? I went to the Wiggle site and the first suit I saw was over $600 Cdn. Wow. I've only seen little designer string bikinis for that much before. But there were other ones too. I have a suit in a similar shorts style, but boring, all black, which was all that was available in town. I love it though.

    1. This suit was a snip in the online sale last year and I do like the modesty value of it. I recently had a lady offer to take some shots of me on the beach, but when I loaded them up I was horrified at how many cheek revealing shots she'd taken. And the backs of my thighs looked like a badly stuffed mattress! If there's the slightest chance I'll meet someone on the beach I don this beautiful swimsuit and feel much more confident.

  7. Add me to the fans of your suit! You look awesome, and how nice to have the legs covered up. I've swum in the sea many times over my life (our Island is much bigger, but a 15 minute walk takes me to the beach - I'll have to do some shots of it for you), and I know how bitterly cold it can be!

    1. Thanks Sheila. I bet your sea temperature is much colder than ours too. I can swim for up to an hour in a swimsuit during the summer, but only for about 10 minutes in the winter months. I'd love to see your beach shots x
