Camo jeans and gold lurex cardigan

Hurrah for March and this glorious weather!

Hello lovelies and how are you today? We've had the most amazing spell of weather over the weekend, prompting me to go further afield for my photo shoot. This low tide sandbar is normally under water so it was lovely to capture the view of the islands from a different viewpoint.

My casual weekend look of camo jeans and Converse boots is a lovely easy-to-wear pairing, but I wanted to pep it up and what better way than to add a mighty old dose of gold lurex! I know that this may not be in everyone's comfort zone, but it was great fun to wear and gained not one raised eyebrow from those I met along the way. The cardigan is a pre-loved piece by H&M. The white and gold Karl tee shirt was a TK Maxx purchase ages ago.

I'm wearing Radley sunglasses along with two rings both airport concession purchases from years ago. The statement necklace (old) is from Topshop. I love how my camera surprised me with switching on the flash as I stepped towards it!

It was so good to take time away from home; to forget chores and sewing and the Sunday dinner waiting to be cooked. And best of all there wasn't a soul in sight. How grateful I am to live here!

I make no apologies for sporting my Converse boots again, so soon too! It's the joy of rediscovering them after they'd been hidden in the back of the cupboard for months. I've fallen in love with them all over again.

I'm so aware that time is slipping away as my return to work looms large on the horizon. The mental battle continues as I try to find that balance between projects I want to finish at home and my desire to embrace the big outdoors while I have this free time. No matter what I do, I have this nagging doubt that perhaps I ought to be doing the other...

  1. Do what your heart tells you to do. I'm not going to be going back to full-time work for at least 6 more months (I'm sure I've ranted before on Canada's pathetic attempts to get vaccines!), but I'm dreading it. I've gotten so used to having my extra days off and all that extra time.

I love this casual look, Anna. I have similar camo pants that I wear around the house - I don't have a lurex cardi, though, and I'm thinking I need one! Lovely vistas, as always.

    Hugs to you, honey.

    1. I must admit that having all of this time away from work has been a real eye-opener for me. I've always felt that work defined me, but being at home has been a wonderful opportunity to discover my domestic side.

I'm amazed that you don't have a lurex cardigan - get thee to the shops right now!

      Hugs to you too x

  2. Those colours suit you reaaly well. I hope you vax went well. I expect it was a more intimate experience than mine. We went to the Grandstand at Epsom Downs for ours. Quite a shock to the system after being at home so long with between 50-100 people in there. It was like being in an airport departure lounge waiting for your gate to be called.beautiful setting though not as beautiful s yours. Have a good week Tessa

    1. Cheers Tessa. The jab was fine - in fact I didn't even feel it going in! I've been lucky not to have any adverse reaction apart from a stiff arm.

      All the best x

  3. Sheila: Of course you need a Lurex cardigan! Head to EBay right now, before you forget.

  4. You never need a excuse to wear those Converse! They are so good. I can understand the dilemma, it's hard to go back to normal, fast, stress, busy, life again.

    1. It will be such a terrible shock to the system, I'm sure! I'm cramming as much into my days as I can and hope that I'll acclimatise once I get back into the routine of things.

      Have a super week x

  5. Those converse are so fab, no wonder you had to wear them again!, and they look perfect with camo and lurex!, love these different textures/prints as they work together nicely!
I'm also enjoying some extra free time, and sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the amount of things I want to do!. Isn't it ridiculous that I can stress myself about my free time and activities I do for fun?. I try to take a deep breath and focus on present time, then I feel better.

    1. Thanks Monica.

I'm so pleased to hear that you feel the same as I do. I think that the fact that it's meant to be free time and yet I don't know the best way to spend it seems to be crazy to be stressful and yet it is!

  6. Oh, I do love that lurex cardigan, very glam and perfectly matched with the cameo jeans. I love the combination of colours and style. I’d also want to preserve those trainers; they are fab! X

It was such fun putting this look together and then to get out into the sunshine and finding a lovely spot with this beautiful backdrop was a great little jaunt xxx

  8. Hi Anna,

    back again ;-)
The colours suits you so well and caress your skin. I love the converse!!! To the vaccine: I have to wait untill... May, June, July (with luck). First in the line are the older ones and the systemically important persons. I have to be patient.

    Hugs from Cologne,
    Susa

    1. You know I do love bright colours, but sometimes these more muted tones appeal to me too.

We're very lucky to be so far ahead with our vaccination programme. I hope to get my second dose just before the Gallery re-opens for business - that would make me feel less stressed than last summer.

So pleased to have you back on board xx
