Brooch pile

I've shown this jacket on Instagram, but not with the same configuration of brooches so here's the new and improved version. A blogging friend, Suzanne Carillo (see her blog here), had featured her brooch pile jacket around the same time and we had laughed about our creative efforts being so similar at times.

I couldn't say which particular one of these is my favourite, but I do love the crammed full effect the brooches all create. I saw a fashion feature recently that showed a denim jacket with brooches which were sprinkled all over the entire thing. It was pretty in its own way and I might try it if I tire of this.

I really like this bag and shoes combo. Ostrich and leopard print are great partners in my eyes.

I can see that this brooch collecting could be addictive. Another blogging friend of my Kezzie (see her blog here) features her brooches often and each one has a story. I'm not sure if brooches might ever replace my passion for clothes, but it's another little offshoot which will be a joy I'm sure.

The denim jacket was a £5 bargain in a charity shop and the brand is GAP. My orange top is by Coast (charity shop) and skirt is from Boden. Shoes are by Salord Jover and handbag brand is L Credi from TK Maxx. Watch is by Michael Kors, rose gold bangle is by Kate Spade, rings are old, as are the pearl necklaces.

Wishing you all a great weekend and hope you can drop by again soon!

  3. Nothing blings up a denim jacket or vest more than a big sparkly pile of brooches! I think I said this on Instagram, but Suzanne is who/what I immediately thought of when I saw this...lol! It is such a beautiful look and always unique because no one has the same brooch collection.

    1. Debbie you're so right. This is the perfect bit of bling especially as I can keep changing it around. Suzanne's denim jacket is truly a work of art and is a source of inspiration. I love the fact that everyone can have a unique piece too. Wishing you a lovely weekend x

  4. Well one thing is brooches take up far less space than clothing! LOL

I love the bright bold colours here, especially since it is orange, one of my favourites.

I think your jacket turned out great. I do find that the more I pile on the jacket the heavier it gets. I decided to buy another jacket while thrifting that I'm leaving plain now so I don't have to keep removing all the pins each time.

    bisous

    1. My jacket is the new favourite thing for me at the moment. I'm currently on the mainland and will be scouring the shops for more sparkling riches to add to it. I'm surprised how heavy it has become and can see what a good idea it is to have a plain denim jacket too. Happy weekend to you x

  7. Lovely items. Beautiful striped skirt. I used to wear 5 brooches on a D&G skirt suit. That was quite popular and it removed the office look from the suit.
So I say: pile them on.

    1. Thanks Greetje. I like the mix of formal and informal of this outfit. The brooches do seem to create a lot of positive feedback every time I wear the jacket, so much so that I've just bought a handful more on my most recent shopping expedition - watch this space for the big reveal later this week!
