Quite contrary

They say it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind and as such I find myself being rather contrary since my last post. I'm no longer convinced that summer is a state of mind when the cold North wind is blowing as ferociously as it is currently! Hence I'm wrapped up in a cosy turtle neck and trousers today.

The simple roll neck is a perfect canvas for my long two toned metal necklace. I've added rings, preloved, in silver and gold to pick up the alternate shades of metal.

These trousers are a recent purchase from TK Maxx and are reflecting what seems to be theme in my transitional wardrobe. Black and grey are featuring heavily as you'll see over the next few weeks with these fabulous trainers being the building blocks that I worked up from. They're black and a glittery silver which may not show up very well in the bright sunlight and best of all are incredibly comfortable!

Sasha has done the honours with today's photography giving Polly a day off. We've dodged just along the beach at New Grimsby from our normal location to try to escape the wind, with an element of success. I'm so lucky to have this kind of help from both of the girls and know that my blog wouldn't be half as good without them. It's going to be a real bonus having them around all this winter too. Thank you, my lovelies!

Outifit details - trousers: Massimo Fabbro, sweater: old, trainers: Steve Maddon, necklace: Du Barre, rings: preloved, sunglasses: Quay Australia.

  1. I love that bold necklace and mixed metal accessorizing. The pants are glorious. I'm still not quite onboard with trainers/sneakers with "real" clothes, but maybe it's just a matter of my eye getting used to them. Lovely, Anna!

    1. Thanks Sheila! I totally love this trend of wearing trainers with real clothes and if you could see these ones in the flesh you'd see they really do make the grade as far as being real shoes go. They're very sleek, the glitter toes and heels are uber dazzly and they make me feel like I'm just about to set out for my first journey into space. I'll keep showing them and hope that yes, you'll get used to them.

      Have a great weekend!

  2. It's definitely chillier! I've succumbed and put the heating on for a few hours for the past two days...

The trousers are lovely and very cheerful just what you need in these cooler and darker autumn days. Love the accessories muchly!

    Have a fab weekend.

    1. I've been holding off getting my jackets and coats out of storage, but feel the time is getting nearer now as it's just so blooming chilly!

I'm thrilled with these new trews and have fallen in love with this mustard colour once more. Maybe autumn isn't so bad after all!

Wishing you a lovely weekend too!

  3. Those trousers are not only charming perfection for this transitional time of year but the yellow posies bring a smile to my face. Also, I'm a HUGE lover of turtleneck sweaters. I have a long neck and broad shoulders and I look ridiculous in a chunky sweater without a t-neck or scarf to balance the scrawny neck. Also I think a black turtleneck is very chique and sophisticated...

    1. I'm so in love with these trousers Jude. The fabric is weighty and sleek as well as being pretty much wrinkle free - they've come straight out of my suitcase without even seeing an iron! And yes, you can't go wrong with a black turtleneck can you?

      Have a great weekend!

    1. I must admit to being partial to roll necks - perfect to keep the chills out! Transitional dressing seems to be the theme on lots of blogs currently doesn't it? I somehow always think that London has it's own microclimate with back to back sunshine according to the forecasts - or maybe that's just on the days I take notice.

      Wishing you a lovely weekend!

  5. Obviously just catching up with all your posts Anna! So, your daughter is going to be around all winter? How nice! You know we're supposed to be (trying!) to move so I may have both of my daughter's here this winter if we haven't sold our house by then. If we sell our house then I will have neither daughters but my husband! What a topsy turvy time for my family! I look forward to your winter outfits!

    1. I'm thrilled to have my daughter home for winter. It may be longer, but who knows. I've seen that your life isn't that straightforward currently and can see how you must have mixed feeling about the future for your family. I do hope that it all sorts itself out to everyone's satisfaction.

      Good luck!
