Yay! Another Dress Up Friday

Happy Friday!

Hello and happy Friday to you all. And yes, Friday now means Dress Up Friday which surely has to be the highlight of my week currently. I do miss dressing up for work so this is the next best thing. What about you? Do you have a day when you bring out your glad rags? Sunday maybe when you Zoom the family? Do let me know what merits some dressing up in your life.

I bought this fabulously colourful jumpsuit in the autumn of 2018 when I was in Manchester filming an advert for JD Williams. The all-in-one was from H&M in collaboration with GP & Baker fabric which I picked it up in their end of summer sale. See my styling of it then, but mainly to check out my sharp haircut of the day - oh how I'm missing getting to the hairdressers!

I chose neutral sandals (Bertie) and belt (pre-loved) for today's outfit along with my lovebirds handbag (also pre-loved) to tie in with the pink and blue of the flowers.

Orange is my accent colour for rings and bangle - all of these are charity shop finds.

Today's sunglasses are by Guess. The tonal beaded necklace was from a market in Cape Town.

Thanks for joining me again today. As the lock-down restrictions are gradually being eased in England, I can say I'm delighted to report that sea swimming outdoors is now legal again as are water sports. Wednesday saw a flurry of boats being launched in the harbour at New Grimsby. Apart from that we're not seeing much different here on the island currently. Plans are afoot to gradually restart the business within the next month or so which has galvanised me into action again. I'd determined to achieve as much of my spring cleaning as possible before I have to return to work.

The view from my kitchen window looks as quiet and calm as ever.

    1. Isn't it great when an new bit of inspiration comes your way? I do envy you for having a wealth of material at the moment. I've got some spare fabric and I'm looking at trying to create a mask pattern for me to wear when I go back to work. I'd like to make something a bit jazzy, of course!

  3. What a beautiful jumpsuit Anna; the colours are fabulous and I love your accessories. You look great!
I love that they can be dressed up or down and find them super comfortable, easy to wear. Casual jumpsuits have been my mainstay during lockdown.
Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful outfits once business is back to normal.

Thank you for the lovely picture of your view, I doubt I’d get much cooking done in your kitchen as I’d spend most of my time looking out of the window. Stunning. X

    1. I must admit I've worn a lot of jumpsuits and dungarees during lock-down too as they're so blooming practical aren't they? I'm enjoying playing with my clothes and am having fun finding new combinations for when I do get back into the workplace.

My kitchen view is pretty awesome and yes, can serve as a distraction too!

  5. I love the your floral jumpsuit, the fabric is so happy! While I don't get dressed "up", I dress nicely if I run out to get coffee--haha! Our restrictions are slowly being lifted, too.

  6. That jumpsuit is totally fabulous, as is your accessorizing! And that gorgeous lovebirds bag is to die for. But most of all, I love the view from your kitchen window. You lucky, lucky girl! I have never stopped dressing up by the way, as I don't feel like me wearing casuals. Plus, dressing up is that little bit of normal I can retain. Have a lovely evening and Sunday, Anna xxx

    1. I see you on Instagram every day and always you're so bright and colourful - it's impressive to keep the standard up every day Ann! I do have more slouchy days when I'm in the midst of a big springing job and know that I won't be going out at all.

The view from my kitchen is pretty amazing and is ever changing according to the tides and sunlight. I'm very fortunate x

I hope things ease up for you soon! But stay safe.

Hugs to you, and a happy weekend!

  9. I do love your jumpsuit! Such a gorgeous shape and pattern! I might look out for this as another 'copy Anna' item! Ha ha!
I very much enjoy dressing up at home! I am not cycling, running, dashing, dealing with public transport so I will sweat less which I hate doing in lovely clothes!

    1. I thought this whole outfit might appeal to your sense of colour and style Monica.

Good for you to keep dressing up. I've spent a lot of time spring cleaning as well as gardening so have been in scruffs a lot of the time x
