Trying one of those arty shots with a shaft of sunlight... |
This shows the unusual tucks at the back of the jacket. |
I have a little cache of photos all taken on a fine Sunday afternoon this autumn. It seemed like too good an opportunity to miss, and was also good experience for me to fiddle about with my camera to get to grips with the timer. This particular outfit really is all about the jacket. I bought it at half price in the Benetton sale a couple of years ago for £30 which seemed like a good price for such a lovely weighty woollen jacket. I've just rediscovered it recently and when I tried it on with these skinny jeans decided that this was the look that was needed to show the jacket off to its best. I'm in love with it again, which is my sole reason for buying anything. At the trying on stage I know if I'm going to buy something when I clock my smiling reflection in the mirror. Love it or leave it is my motto. And, of course, let's not forget that it's orange (my favourite colour), and tartan (my favourite pattern). So the pairing with these purple skinny jeans from Gap is perfect in my eyes. I've kept the top simple with this marled grey thin polo neck sweater. The shoes are Dr Martens in pewter which I've dressed up with black and silver metallic windowpane check socks. And it was time to bring out my leopard print hat again, along with the cute handbag and pistachio coloured leather gloves.
Jacket: Benetton. Jeans: Gap (charity shop). Shoes: eBay. Socks: Primark. Polo neck: H&M. Belt: H&M. Philip Treacy hat: eBay. Gloves: Enjoy. Handbag: charity shop. Necklace: gift. Linking today with Elegantly Dressed and Stylish Style Crone Not Dressed as Lamb Not Dead Yet Style Kremb de la Kremb |
That plaid jacket is SWEET! I also love orange. It isn't often you find people that like orange or like to wear it.

Thanks Suzanne. Maybe it's something to do with our hair colour that makes it a favourite. I think it's a great cheer-me-up colour. Thanks for dropping by x

P.S Just a thought....photo's can be deceptive, I am assuming you are about the same height and size as me....I am 5'6" and an 8-10 (depending on the shop)....10 in topshop 8 in M&S for example.
Anna, this jacket is glorious! It's so pretty, chic, I'm assuming totally comfortable, perfectly quirky yet class all at once.
DeleteI'm in! Please include me in the PING PONG! But, the thing is I'm way larger than both of you two--I'm more like a UK 14. Is this the kind of jacket that I could squeeze into?
Beautifully styled. I thought those jeans were indigo. They're a very cool color. And one can never go wrong with LEOPARD!
Great jacket. Glad you got it. ;D Ann
Thank you Ann for all the lovely compliments. Yes, of course you're in and yes, the jacket will fit you I'm sure. Am in touch with Samantha to get the ball rolling. What fun. Let the Ping Pong commence! xxx
DeleteThat coat is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamazing! What a great colour and pattern AND YOU OWN A PHILIP TREACY HAT????????????????????????????????????????????????XXX
ReplyDeleteOh Kezzie, it's such a joy to run a blog when I get a response like this. I've only worn the jacket twice after it being in my wardrobe for the past two years and suddenly I love it. And the hat, well that was a lucky find and clever bidding on eBay.

I thought the jacket was vintage. I'm glad companies make such cool stuff these days. I love the orange in the tartan and the cool tucks at the back. This whole outfit is fantastic. And you do great arty shots too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great little jacket and does have a vintage feel which was the attraction. I love orange, it always gives me a boost. It will be the perfect antidote to our standard winter - wild winds and grey weather. Thanks for dropping by again.
