Not #PPP

Sometimes we Ping Pong Posters have an item that's been on its travels and that for one reason or another doesn't quite make the grade. Today's post is one of those. These fabulous paisley trousers belong to Ann of Kremb de la Kremb. They're her Thanksgiving pants she says and I drooled over them this time last year. She very kindly sent them on to me with a bundle of other goodies which have all since been aired. These lovelies, however, were too short for our long-limbed Samantha of Fake Fabulous and so were dropped from the schedule.

Paisley is one of my favourite patterns, but translated into rich corduroy and these trousers become my ultimate winter wear. I kinda hoped that Ann would donate them to my undernourished wardrobe, but no such luck. I spent this particular Sunday gadding about with these on, mixing and matching with all sorts of separates that didn't get in front of the camera, but which were all rather lovely. A fair isle cardi and orange pussy bow blouse looked rather gorgeous, as did a sleek polo neck with these long beads and chunky belt, but this charity shop tunic gave the best look of all. I love the pattern clashing, the bold colours and the real autumnal feel of this version. It was great to come across these photos in my draft box although for some reason they do look a bit dated - or is that just me?

Trousers: Ann's, tunic: charity shop, boots: River Island, cardigan Fenn Wright Manson, beads: gift, watch: Michael Kors, flower ring and bracelet: Dorothy Perkins, perspex ring: gift, rose gold bangle: Kate Spade New York, sunglasses: Quay Australia.

    1. They're pretty fab, aren't they Suzanne? At least I got to have a bit of a dressing up day with them, before I sent them back.

    1. They are exactly that. I could have slouched about in them forever, and have been on the lookout for a similar pair ever since.

  3. I think you need to make friends with a seamstress and have some made for you!! With velvet and corduroy being more on trend I'm sure you can find a great paisley fabric to fit the bill. OR maybe Ann could engage her wonderful tailor to make some for you... (?)
They are pretty special and a very luscious paisley (I'm crazy for paisley too). Cute outfit Anna!!

    1. I'm more of the mind that I'm going to come across my own version of these one of these days when I'm charity shopping. But if all else fails I could think about getting some made to measure I suppose...
Lovely to hear from you x

  5. Those are trousers to treasure. Paisley print, corduroy and lovely colours - most excellent trousers!

They look lovely on you with the clashing tunic and I like the sound of the orange pussy bow blouse, too!

That's interesting what you said about Samantha. I envisaged you all of a similar height. What a shame this PPP post didn't work out but I'm looking forward to the next one....

Hope your week is going well

    1. A treasure Veronica, is exactly how Ann sees these, and that's why I could never keep them. It's her Thanksgiving ritual to get these gorgeous trousers out and that signals the start of their celebrations. I love that kind of thing, don't you?
I wonder if we PPP girls will ever meet up - it would be great to see how we all look in the flesh. Ah well, you can dream.
      Enjoy your week x

  6. The more I look at this tunic paired with these trousers the more I like the unexpected combination. You, Ann and Samantha are wonderful at doing the unexpected but each in your own way. IF you three ever meet up I want to know in advance. Is it inappropriate for a non blogger to join in on one of the "meet-ups"? I love you all so much I'd crash the festivities!!!

    1. Rest assured Judy, it's not something that's going to happen quickly so you're sure to get wind of it! Where's half way point between Hong Kong, USA and the UK?!!!!

    1. Thanks for that. They are indeed the most fabulous of pants, and all I can say is that at least I had the pleasure of their company for the weekend! I'm going to be on the lookout for something similar wherever I go now.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend x

  8. When I saw this on Instagram I was thinking it was a very 70's look but, knowing you, figured that was what you were going for. However, you bring up that it looks (sort of) dated. When I read that my first thought was the color combinations in the paisley made it look dated. I don't know. Just my gut reaction. If you're trying to give it a contemporary revival, perhaps different pants or different tunic, still in paisley, just in different color combinations. You are still rockin' it either way though!

    1. I love your honesty here Julia. For me, the reason I thought it looked dated was coming from a completely different angle. Last winter I took all my own photos and this was my location for almost every one - that's why I think they look dated, because I've become so used to seeing the sea as my backdrop. The styling was indeed retro, but that was intentional. Perhaps I ought to have explained that in full? Hahaha. Your points are valid, however, but I'll not get a chance to style up the trousers again as Ann has then back in Hong Kong now. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to think this through and for your suggestions.
      Have a fab weekend x
