National Selfie Day - #Gemfie

Did you know it's National Selfie Day today? For many, today will be celebrated for being the Summer Solstice with much dancing around standing stones and bathing in the early morning dew. But for me, well I've been enlisted by Gemporia to help celebrate National Selfie Day. The company offers a comprehensive range of gemstones in every kind of jewellery. I think there's something so very decadent about wearing gemstones. I'd love to spend a day browsing their storerooms playing with all those twinkling, shiny stones in every colour of the rainbow. Ah well, a girl can dream...

I've been gifted this beautiful citron gemstone ring for the occasion and as you can see I'm rather pleased with the choice of ring for my #Gemfie. I love a big cabouchon stone and this one will be such a great addition to my jewellery collection. I did in fact get two of these citrine rings as you'll see later. They arrived in lovely packaging after a very speedy dispatch thanks to Hannah . Some of the staff at Gemporia joined in the #Gemfie campaign too as you'll see.

These girls must have such fun working with these wonderful jewellery collections - can you imagine all the trying on you'd have to do when a new supply of stock arrives? If you're a fan of all things shiny and sparkly then do take a moment to check out the Gemporia website where temptation surely awaits you.

Outfit details - top: so old, I've forgotten, trousers: Stanley Market, rings: c/o gemporia, watch: Michael Kors, sunglasses: Sainsbury's, sandals: Miss KG.

  1. This ensemble is looking good and what idyllic weather!
Is is a trirt or skousers? I've got one similar, bought from an East warehouse sale some time ago but never worked out what to wear with it or for what occasion. You've got me thinking now. Tessa xx

    1. We're having the most wonderful spell of weather currently, so much so that I've got sunburnt lips today after a desert island picnic yesterday.

I kind of like the idea of skousers Tessa, so I'm going with that. I'm really pleased that you've found some inspiration here x

    1. Thanks Emma. I'm thrilled with this gorgeous ring and fancy that it'll be featured in many a shoot this summer. I've got another outfit lined up with these trousers too!

      Have a lovely day x

  3. Ooph, pretty gem stones!! I love your outfit, such beautiful trousers and the top is so prettily detailed yet in a lovely day that it compliments the trousers rather than detracting from them!! :-)

    1. I don't mind being pressurised into having some new gemstone jewellery, no not at all! Glad you like the pieces and how they all came together to make an outfit. The top is truly ancient but is still much loved.

  4. Oh I was so hoping those trousers were vintage. Or are they?

    Lovely look.

    1. No, not vintage I'm afraid Suzanne. I still love 'em though!

  5. I adore those wacky pants - I was totally fooled into thinking they were a skirt!

Lovely rings - are they actually cabochon? Isn't that a round "dome" surface, not faceted? These look faceted (need a close-up!).

    Lovely outfit, as always, m'dear!

    1. I bow to your superior knowledge Sheila - excuse the mis-use of the work cabouchon! These ain't domed, but faceted. Not that I love them any less for that.

Am delighted you like the crazy trousers - I've been waiting months to get them out.

      Thanks my lovely!

  6. The embroidered top is so interesting. It has a tie dyed look to it, and are those little hearts embroidered all over it! All users (love a new term) again, the print is wonderful and I love the little borders on the front flaps. A very unique combination Anna!
You did quite well on styling the denim cut offs. I suspect that this is a very American "thing". I think the trend started in the late 60's when jeans wore out at the knees. They were the first solution to a distended jean.
I'm intrigued that your rather taken by the citrine stone. My late mother had an affinity for them too. These are some serious size stones!!

    1. This was the first time I'd worn these together and I really like the end result too. The top is so old that I really can't remember where or when I bought it, but yes, it's little hearts.

The cut-offs - well suffice to say I'm pleased that's over. Ann was so very kind posting these to me, but I really would have been happy to sit this one out, hahaha!

I've no idea why the citrine holds such an appeal for me, but golly, I do love them, and these two are simply beautiful.

  7. I have a new tablet and I HATE the auto-correct. It doesn't meet my vocabulary needs or standards...
SKOUSERS became "all users" (that I can forgive)
DISTRESSED no distended (that I can't forgive)

    1. Auto-correct is the bane of my existence too. I did wonder what all users meant!

  8. I love your unusual trousers and the top is exquisite. The shoes go so well and look very comfy despite the height.

The ring is beautiful; I really like citrines!

    1. Thanks so much Vronni. The shoes are really comfy as you say and that grip on the sole makes them feel really sturdy too.

Citrines are my favourite stones. But really all gems that twinkle and sparkle captivate me.

      Best wishes

  9. "Skousers" - I love it! I had read about your fabulous weather over there. How wonderful (but maybe not so wonderful having sunburnt lips!) I love the top, it looks covered in its own gemstones. Enjoy the summer, Elizabeth. xx

    1. Hahaha, yes skousers is a great one! But just as quickly as summer arrived, it's gone again. Our days are grey and drizzly at the moment which isn't ideal for blog photography at all.

Best wishes to you Elizabeth x
