More sock boots!

Excuse the huge cheesy grin, but I'm loving these sock boots and thought you would want to see them too. I know this is going to look like yet another Zara promo feature, but it honestly isn't! Yes, the boots are on offer (see here), but that's just a coincidence - I love them regardless of the price.

Check out the sparkle on these heels!

I love the comfort factor, I love the colour, I love the stretch, but most of all I love the crazy angle of these heels. Steve warned me to be careful with the sharp slant as I maybe need to perform a risk assessment before I step out in them. Hahaha! Don't ya just love a little input from yer man?

This is my "I'm not amused face".

So anyway, by the time you read this I'll actually be on the mainland, at the dentist once again, boo-hoo! Another tooth drama, as I've cracked a tooth and think it may have opened up a root canal. It feels a bit groundhog day I must admit. I worry that at this rate I'll have no teeth left and will have to suck all my meals through a straw!

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy seeing this combo of culottes and boots with this butter soft leather jacket.

Steve thinks the angle of these heels is a bit too weird, but I like the quirkiness - what about you? Would you wear them?

Outfit details - jacket: DSquared, trousers and boots: Zara, shirt: Sainsbury's, sunglasses: Quay Australia, rings: Sainsbury's.

Sorry to be brief this time, but I've still to pack a bag this evening as I've got to catch an early boat tomorrow morning. This is probably the only time I envy mainland life - how simple it must be to jump in the car and drive to health appointments. I'll leave you with this lovely poem by Pam Ayres who captures my sentiments completely...

Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth!

Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth,
And spotted the dangers beneath
All the toffees I chewed,
And sweet sticky food.
Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth!

The rest of the poem can be seen here.

Wish me luck at the dentist. See you soon, and keep brushing those choppers!

  1. Sorry about your tooth! That's no fun!! Hope it won't be too bad...

I absolutely love your boots and your entire outfit! The heel of the boots is really something, and I the culottes and the jacket - everything!

Again, I hope the dentist wasn't too bad!

    1. Back home and repairs are in place with plans for more work on said tooth, so thank you for your concern Andrea.
The heels are what attracted me to these boots, well that, plus the fact that they're green. I just love a bit of sparkle and bling, but you'll know that about me already.

      Thanks for dropping in!

  2. Good luck at the dentist! I went two weeks ago and have a tiny fracture in a back tooth. Nothing to be done said the dentist, wait for the fracture to get bigger and we can do something about it or it may become infected and then we can do something about that...meanwhile I'm being very careful of what I eat and drink on that side!

I love the sock boots (they're green!) and the leather jacket is absolutely beautiful. I wanted to stroke it in your photos it looks so soft! It's a lovely outfit, Anna.

    1. Close examination revealed a crack across the entire tooth Vronni, so there's more work to do next month when I'm in Cornwall on holiday. I suppose that's what's to be expected after chomping away on these teeth for the past 60 years!
On the upside, I finally got into the vintage shop around the corner from the dentist and found a gorgeous green suede jacket - photos to follow in due course!

      Have a lovely weekend!

  3. I love the angle on those heels - it's positively Fluevogian! I'd be worried that the heels might snap off, though - that seems a lot of pressure to put on them.

I adore this funky outfit, Anna! So sorry to hear about your dental woes! I was at the dentist myself again just yesterday. Sending you good teeth vibes!!

    1. Hopefully the heels will stand up to the wear and tear of island life Sheila - I'll be sure to let you all know!
Home again, and the dental appointment is a thing of the past. He's a great technician and really puts me at my ease though and at one point I nearly drifted off to sleep - not what you'd expect when someone is working away inside your mouth!

      Have a good weekend!

  4. Dental woes are definitely high on most peoples list of something they'd prefer to avoid. Having had s few of my own I can empathize with you Anna, particularly when you have to travel early in the morning!!
You look great in these colors. I love that cute little jacket and the warm buttery color goes so well with the rust and loden in the rest of your outfit.
The heels on your boots sre very unique but also look they look like they're tricky to walk in. For that reason I applaud your look but won't copy these boots.

    1. I suppose ageing and dental woes go hand in hand Jude, but at least I've got a great dentist who really is helping me cope in lots of ways - I'm not scared like I used to be and that's down to his skill with pain control.
The boots don't feel odd to walk on so I'll have to see long term how they hold up to everyday wear and tear. I found a jacket to match these perfectly so you'll be seeing that once the rest of the outfit is pulled together.

      Enjoy your weekend!

  5. Wow, you rock girlfriend! The jacket is the perfect structure for the funky trouser shape. The boot heels did get me inwardly screaming "please be careful!". Visually it's hard to imagine how they can work - breakthrough state of the art technology I'm sure, and deserving of display in the gallery maybe?! So sorry about the tooth issue. Mine have created challenges too, I think my teeth are out of sync with my body's surprising longevity - Designer fault?!! Hope yours get fixed quickly, x.

    1. Thanks so much Mary. The design of the heels seems to work fine so far, but only time will tell I suppose. I just bought a new jacket that would have worked beautifully too, so will be playing around styling that up this weekend...
And yes, maybe you're right about our teeth. Perhaps it is a matter of us outliving them? I'm not ready to exchange mine for false ones though!!!

    1. Glad you love the boots, Monica! I think they're great fun and just sooo comfortable too.
I'm in the middle of a whole lot of dental work, but to be honest it's long overdue and will be worth it in the long run. I trust my dentist and feel that we're on the right track with things which really matters, doesn't it?

  7. I noticed and admired those boots on Zara's website and what a bargain! They were out of my size. Do they feel normal to walk in? Risk assessment! Was Steve thinking of potential injury for you or for the paths and flooring of the Tresco estate?
Hope all goes well at the dentist and that there's chance for some shopping too.

    1. Yes, they do feel perfectly normal which is testament to good design, don't you think Tessa? Steve always likes to poke gentle fun at my quirky outfits, but was maybe concerned I'd do myself an injury.
It all went well at the dentist and yes, I managed a wee bit of shopping...

      Have a great weekend!
