I love this print, it's rich and opulent, and the perfect colourway for me too. |
These brogues don't come out often so it's great to have a new outfit that needs them. |

I love these colours, they lift my mood, so great. Love, Kirsten

Thanks Kirsten. Brilliant colours aren't they? Good of you to drop by x

You've got a very psychedelic look going on there with your tunic dress and brogues. I love it! I had a similar outfit in 1970 when I took my first job as a public school music teacher. My colors, though, were more in the blue, green, yellow, and bright pink tones. My brogues were tan with navy "saddles". Wish I had a picture. I hope you feel as hip and comfortable in your updated version as I did so long ago.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that memory Susan. It would've been great to see a photo of that. The brogues sound lovely - just my kinda thing. I loved how this cute little tunic made me feel.

That tunic/dress is fabulous!! You could always wear a straight skirt under it to add a little length!! jodie

So glad you like it Jodie. I'm inclined to go along the lines of trousers under this next time to see how it looks.

Those shoes! You have found the perfect outfit for the shoes for sure.
ReplyDeleteI figure as long as a person is wearing tights you can go pretty short.
What a cool Mother's Day gift.
bisous
Suzanne
Yes, I think you're right Suzanne. The tights pull it all together and hide a multitude of sins! The girl done good x

Sash was right! What a happy pairing of tunic and brogues. Match made in sartorial heaven. And opulent is totally the right word to describe the print. Just makes you want to dive right into it.

Isn't it a treat to have a new, fab and instant favourite dress all wrapped up as a Mother's Day gift? The print is divine isn't it? Am so lucky.

ReplyDeleteGod bless daughters I say!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely tunic/dress and looks fab on you. I think you suit yellow admirably. I absolutely love those brogues - bring them out to play more often - they're fantastic!
I'm very intrigued by your forthcoming post - I shall keep checking until I see it!

We've both done well with our daughters I agree. (Your OTK boots are perfect for your frame.) I had a bit of a spring clean yesterday and had a lovely sort out of my brogue collection - it's not quite as fancy as the MB at The Burlington Arcade, but still rather lovely as far as I'm concerned. See you on Sunday x

What a fabulous tunic! I love the opulent pattern of it and the gorgeous colours. Those are fantastic brogues - you need to wear them more! Oh, and don't think I missed that we are the same shoe size, Ms. Anna! ;-P
ReplyDeleteWill watch for your exciting post! I'll have one of my own early next week (not *that* exciting, don't mean to get your hopes up!).
I discovered a few more pairs of brogues hidden under my bed yesterday whilst I did a bit of a spring clean, so you'll be seeing them soon. I do hope my post is as exciting as I think it is! Looking forward to seeing yours too x

ReplyDeleteDidn't she do well! Thanks for your lovely comments Kezzie and I look forward to seeing you again on Sunday x

So nice to meet you, Anna! Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I'm glad to visit yours as well. You are certainly a wonderful wizard of color! I must confess (that makes 2 confessions today, see other in my reply to you on my blog)... I am in a really beigy/monochromatic love affair right now. I will come here and enjoy the splendor of your colorful existence. xo :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa. Such are the joys of the link up parties that we all find new blogs to visit. Colour is truly my thing, but surely it would be boring if we were all the same. See you soon!
DeleteNow THAT is what I call a good mother's day gift (take note kids!).
ReplyDeletePerfectly styled...and those shoes....they make me go a little crazy!

I'm sure your girls will be doing the same for you when they're a bit older. So good to get these little brogues out again x

Gorgeous look, Anna, and I'm a firm believer of taking sartorial counsel from one's daughter, I do that all the time with Eve (she thinks I need to do less is more and I think she needs to add more to her less). That print is beautifully baroque without being gaudy, in fact, it brings to mine the Versace Medusa print for some reason, which is a good thing. A very good thing. And your brogues!! I can't do brogues and that makes me appreciate it even more on other stunning women xoxo
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, Anna, my link-up is now live and I'd really love for you to come over xoxo

Sheela, I think my daughter did so well! I can't imagine a life without my brogues - they're my daily go-to shoes. I've added my latest post to your link up, thank you x

Oh my goodness. Yay Sasha! You look fantastic. I love it. Anything that could get you into those killer bee shoes is definitely a winner. Happy belated Mum's Day.
ReplyDeleteSuch a treat to get a gift like this, and now I've got another excuse to wear these buzzy brogues. Lovely to hear from you x

I love your tunic..so unique and colorful! Those wing tip shoes are pretty cool too! I am 51 and am much more daring with fashion then when I was young...I like to be modest too, and incorporate the unordinary!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring!

Thank you for dropping by and for your comments. I must admit I was always a bit adventurous with my dressing, and don't plan on changing that just because I'm in my 50's. Happy Spring to you too x

You are right. Those beautiful brogues go very well with the lovely tunic dress. And thanks for teaching me another word: "opulent". Great word.
ReplyDeleteGreetje
Opulent was the word that I had to search my brain for, and when it finally emerged I knew it was the perfect description for this wonderful pattern. Great word indeed. Your welcome!
