And yet more sequins...

Sequins yes, but not as you may have expected. Well, I wouldn't be me if I didn't deliver something a bit different, would I? This outfit channels the rock chick in me, but more than that, it also feels so blooming good thanks to trousers which fit like a dream, paired with boots that definitely put the ROCK into rock chick. It's a huge contrast to last year's party fare as seen here, but I think that's why I've been showcasing all of these other outfits: it's time for a change, but which me should I be this year?

The sequins don't show their true colour in the sunlight - they're actually silver, yellow and rose gold on a black backdrop.

I fancy that today's outfit may need me to convince you in it's favour. So firstly; paisley pattern is one of my all time favourites and when you add to that a liberal sprinkling of gold thread as well, then these trousers are pretty much top dog; next comes the dash of leopard print to give a funky edge, not to mention the fun of pattern clashing; finally, the top may look a bit dark or even blue/grey, but the fact is it's actually silver and gold and looks much more stunning in real life, matching the tone of the trousers and boots really well. A change in plans mean that I'm now attending the party without my husband as he's having to make a unexpected trip to the mainland. I'll tag along with some girlfriends instead, but this means I don't feel quite so bold about being all dolled up on my own. This, the most casual of all of the outfits, may feel more comfortable. (Casual = 4inch heels and metallic coloured sequins. Welcome to my world!)

The thing that can be said about all of my sparkly outfits is that come the summer months I'll be hosting my gallery exhibitions again which will afford me ample opportunity to dress up with all the glitz and glam not looking the least bit out of place. Whatever doesn't make the grade tonight can have it's debut in a few months time.

Details - trousers and top: H&M (old), boots: Michael Kors, handbag: charity shop, sunglasses: Quay Australia, necklace: Dorothy Perkins, rings and bracelet: old.

    1. Thanks Monica, it's fun to finally showcase all of these sequins and sparkles. Some of them have been lurking in my closet since last year so it's great to get them aired at last.
Wishing you a fab week x

  2. Yes, another lovely outfit but outfit number two is still my favourite.

Good luck with those skyscraper heels! Love the paisley trousers and the sparkly top. I've got my paisley shawl scarf on at the moment for warmth..

Have a fab time at the party!

    1. I have a real weakness for paisley as you probably know Vronni. It's great to have so much response to this feature, so thank you for joining in.
Have a wonderful Christmas week x

  3. Wonderful sparkle in this outfit, Anna! I hear you on "defending" certain outfits - this one just doesn't come across as well as more colourful or blingier outfits, but is probably amazeballs in person. I say, go with the outfit that feels the most like you when you put it on. Gorgeous as always!

    1. Thanks Sheila. So pleased that you understand where I'm coming from. It's always down to how you feel on the day isn't it? I had a lot of fun putting this little feature together and loved all the interaction that went on. Thanks again for your input and positive advice x

    1. Hey thanks Margot. These trousers are so beautiful close up - they have a gold lurex thread running though them which just is the icing on top of the paisley cake!
Good luck with your sequin posts x

  5. You are lucky that you have a job that allows you to dress to the nines so often.

I like this look, but still prefer the other two. Who cares though? I'm not the one going to the party...you are : )

    1. The fact that I can dress up so often is indeed a great bonus of the job, Suzanne. I do think the photos didn't do this outfit any justice, but hey it didn't really matter at the end of the day!
Hope you have a great Christmas week x

  6. The fact that you're now going with girlfriends does change the comfort level doesn't it?? You look the most sexy/WOW in the blue sequin dress and I understand that you may now want to tone it down a titch. I like this outfit because I also am a big paisley lover.
So...YOU GO GIRL!!! Wear what suits you in the moment.
For heavens sake show us the winner and include a nice shot of you and your girlfriends at the party...PLEASE!!

    1. The choice on the day really seemed to be won by this trousers and top option, and that's what was in my mind all day. A couple of things changed this and one was that if I didn't wear the blue dress to my Christmas party, then when will I get another opportunity to wear this much sparkle again?
I'm sorry I didn't get some shots for the blog. My camera was out of battery.
Enjoy the fun of Christmas week x

  8. I confess to liking this outfit the best - it's the most accommodating of all should you decide to jump up and dance on a tabletop. Hey, you never know, right? The man is out of town after all... Hahaha. That said, these are ALL stellar outfits. You certainly can't go wrong with any of them. I suppose it will be up to your mood on the day. Or you may just decide to wear something you haven't even shown us!

    1. And I must confess that I was all over the place with this quest Melanie. Almost every day I changed my mind and it really was right at the last minute that I plumped for the blue dress. I'm really pleased that I did as it deserved to come out and shine. I had lots of compliments and felt I'd made the best choice.
Thanks for taking part in this little feature x
      Have a fab Christmas week!

  9. Ok, so I've been able to see all three and I vote for the blue dress because it looks so fresh and vibrant for this party. However, without a man on your arm, you may not want to shine so much so I would go with the pants outfit. You talked about it like it was just so comfortable for you to wear and your butt looks fabulous in them ( I know, us Americans are always so forward!). I will say it depends on what you feel most comfortable with and all three are show-stoppers so I look forward to reading which you chose since it's Saturday night and your party is over. Plus, tell us about the island party. I'd love to hear details! Julia xx

    1. So you'll know by now that it was the blue dress Julia, and it did seem to get the most votes too. I really surprised myself to wear it as it was my least favourite, but I did love how it looked when I caught sight of myself in the Ladies half way through the evening.
The party took place in the only venue on the island that's open at this time of year - our local pub. I probably have a very low key experience of these events as I'm tea total. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy myself, I just tend not to dance on the tables as Melanie suggested! I was home by 11pm but can tell you that some were still rocking the night away at 3 in the morning (if that makes sense?)
Must pop over to see you soon - life's a bit busy currently.

  10. Love this pattern mix Anna. I have just bought sequinned jogger pants! Right up your street! I'm already wondering if Iv'e bitten off more than I can chew. It's still the Blue dress for my vote though. x
