Midweek metallics

Wednesday, May 03, 2017

Midweek, as I've said before, can be a bit blah for me style wise. One way for me to counter this is to add a dash of metallics to enliven things which is what I've done today. My rose gold brogues haven't seen the light of day for ages and this new bronze jacket hasn't been showcased since I bought it last month. If anything, I'm not convinced that this is one of my best outfits as it's coming over all a bit casual now that I review it. And between you and me, I'm feeling a tad chunky in these jeans too. But before you jump in to counter this, may I just say that it's all relative, this weight thing. I'm surely not the only one who has a 7lb comfort zone and I've reached the top of mine - I reached it just after Christmas in fact (surprise, surprise!) - and now that spring has sprung I'm going to have to cast off the layers with the final layer being my 7lb covering. Clever dressing has disguised the truth for these past months, but enough is enough! Time for a health spring clean I think.

Details - jacket: Bomboogie, waistcoat: H&M, jeans: River Island, belt: charity shopped, top:Girls Club, shoes: Viola, rings: charity shopped, watch: Michael Kors, sunglasses: River Island.

    1. Thank you Monica. I tend to judge myself a bit harshly, I know. I'm pleased this caual look appeals to you. Most of the time I dress up for work, so these dressing down outfits always suffer a tougher critique from me!

Wishing you a lovely weekend x

  2. I like this metallic/subtle colour, casual look combo. I've got my gold sparkly shoes on today and they get so many compliments. I bought them in Madeira when I popped out for a phone charger! Have you seen www.everythingfivepounds.com? I placed an order using a code from Martin Lewis's money saving site that gives free postage. I had fun trying to identify which were high st brands and now waiting for the goodies to arrive. xx

    1. I can't believe that we're in May now, which does mean I've been carrying this excess weight for over 4 months! Time for action indeed.

Glad you like the outfit, and these great shots are all down to Polly, my wonderful assistant.

  4. I have a 5 lb range that I "wave" up and down around, so I totally get that. I have a few pieces that can only be worn when I'm in the low range, but some that only work when I'm at the top of it.

I adore those shiny brogues! Lovely bright outfit for a mid-week, Anna!

    1. Being at the top of my range does restrict my choices and that's going to act as a good motivator to loose those few extra pounds.

I love these rose gold brogues and wonder why I don't wear them more often!

      Have a brill weekend x

  5. I love the jeans and the metallic brogues, in particular. I wore my metallic brogues today, too.

You look svelte to me, Anna, what 7lb?

I should be posting the skirt tomorrow or Friday; I hope you like it!

  6. You look like you've shopped in my closet Anna!! This is exactly the kind of outfit that I enjoy wearing and I can do quite a few iterations of this look. I even have a couple of pairs of brogues now. Although none are as cool as the rose gold pair you're wearing here.
You look svelte and lovely as ever Anna. Also, I'd suggest that your high level of fitness is of greater importance. That additional bit of weight will be she'd as you get into your busy season.
    HAPPY SPRING!

  8. Trying to spot where the seven extra pounds are! A lot of women are most probably envious of your figure Anna, and I admire the hard work you put into keeping it with that cold swimming!
