We love...

Yes, it's the 20th of the month and that's time for my monthly style challenge. Previously Ping Pong Piece held centre stage here, but the girls and I have called it a day. After 18 months of collaborating we felt the time had come to bow out gracefully before we outstayed our welcome. Samantha has launched a weekly link up so do pop over to see how she's getting on with that and Ann is busy as ever sharing her savvy style as well as her DIY projects.

And me, well I'm delighted to introduce you to my daughter, Sasha, who is joining me in our new style feature called "We love..." As mother and daughter we share a passion for clothes, shoes, boots, handbags and all things sparkly. We'll be popping up on the 20th of the month to show you that there needn't be a generation gap where style is concerned. This month "We love florals" so let's get going!

Sasha and I not only love clothes, but we love clothes shopping together. We are ninjas of the sales and experts of rummaging in charity shops finding all sorts of bargains together and for each other. When I suggested that we do this monthly style challenge together Sasha immediately had her own ideas of items we've doubled up on. We have an overlap on many favourites including our passion for brogues, embroidery and all things metallic which will be featured in due course. Clothes sharing may be a contentious issue for some mothers and daughters, but not us - we are constantly passing on pieces to each other (my top today is a prime example).

Florals was on obvious starting point for the feature as we both own an abundance of this most feminine of prints. Winter florals may well crop up over the next few months as we embrace darker tones and deeper colours that are trending. And that's where I'm going to enjoy Sasha's input most of all, as current trends tend to pass me by, but not so with Sasha. She truly has her finger on the pulse knowing what's rising, waning and completely over. Her insight will be great even though I'm sure my own style radar will remain the same. It's exciting to have her on board and I do hope that you appreciate her flair too.

Outfit details -
Sasha wears overshirt and jeans from New Look, sunglasses from Primark and shoes by Guess. I'm wearing a top by H&M, pre-loved jeans, mules by Red Kiss, sunglasses by Sainsbury's, all jewellery pre-loved.

    1. It's great to set this challenge up with Sasha as we know how to get the best out of each other which will surely make for a great feature. And I'll no longer be last one to the party when it comes to new trends either!

  3. What a lovely idea. I love the blue of Sasha's jeans and your top and shoes are adorable. The pattern reminds me a bit of the Liberty fabric called Tresco. Is that top still available? I look forward to more of these posts and seeing how your ideas interplay.
    Waves to Sasha!
Have a good week, Tessa xx

  4. How lovely to get to know your beautiful daughter! You both look fabulous in these florals - I love the different, yet just as awesome kicks you're both wearing! I have never swapped clothes with my mom, ever.

    1. Thanks Sheila, I'm so proud to have Sasha on board with this feature. Like you, I never swapped clothes with my mother, but doesn't that just show how the mother/daughter relationship has changed over the decades? She and I are much closer than I was to my mum which is a real pleasure for me.

Wishing you a lovely week ahead!

  6. This is a lovely idea, Anna.

My daughter and I do not share the same taste in clothes or only very rarely...

I love florals of any description and both your outfits are fab. I especially like your floral mules!

Hope you're having a good week.

    1. Thanks Veronica! I know it's not all mothers and daughters who share this joint love of fashion and that makes me treasure it all the more. We've always spent time shopping together and have similar tastes so this seems like a natural progression.

The mules were one of my favourite shoe purchases this summer, thanks.

Wishing you a good week too!

  7. I love the subtle differences between your "mother and daughter" outfits, dear Anna...you look like a team in your floral blouses and jeans, but your personalities still shine through in the choice of denim styles, shoes, and accessories!! Well done!! XO

    1. Thanks so much Monika. The idea is exactly that - to show how the same fashion can be worn by different generations and yet be just as relevant. And of course, to have fun with it too!

      Have a good week!

  10. Hooray! What a lovely idea to do a mother /daughter collaboration. The differences and similarities will be lots of fun to see and may serve to inspire some stretching of your comfort zones...? Anyway you're bound to have a bunch of laughs and a lot of love so that will be added to the blog as well! Win-win-win I'd say!! ;-)
