The mist was more like fog, but that didn't work quite as well in the title. Visibility was poor, but our photo shoot was given an air of mystery thanks to our hazy backdrop.
We had a day of fog last week when these shots were taken. Sea mist, fog, haar - call it what you like - it added a bit of a different feel to the background. The sparkling sea no longer stole the scene, it was all down to the outfit to dazzle. Step forward my brand new, perfectly formed, mint leather brogues. Ah yes, that's a good start. Then let's just add the beautifully matching faux leather mint jacket. Oh, and what about these wool Oxford Bags in navy and turquoise which I bought in Palermo in February while we were on our cruise? Well now we're talking. The retro print vintage blouse is a sweet addition, softening up the masculine bones of the outfit. In fact, let's add a string of pearls to keep this feminine vibe going. But I can't resist the juxtaposition of these fab green braces against the pearls; what a lovely play of yin and yang. Add a pop of pink by way of this cute clutch and a couple of toning rings and the deed is done. Does that dazzle enough?
Jacket: Vero Moda (TK Maxx). Trousers: Byblos, Italy. Blouse: The Olde Well (charity shop). Shoes: Office (now reduced here) Handbag: Ness (charity shop). Pearls: charity shop. Braces: market stall in Palermo. Belt: Gap. Rings: old.

Stripe trousers are the new in thing I think, just got myself a pair and they actually make me feel a little taller!. Love the blouse Anna, beautiful colours again . Have a great weekend xx
ReplyDeleteIt makes me smile when hitting the latest trend happens by chance. I'm delighted none the less. The vintage blouse is favourite of mine too - I wore a dress in this kind of pattern to my aunt's wedding when I was only about 10 years old - happy memories. Have a great weekend too x

What a fun funky colourful look!
ReplyDeleteThe suspenders are wonderful.
Such a great colour on the brogues. The outfit is a bit misty like your background : )

This was a bit of fun especially as I adore these mint brogues and have been saving them for the past couple of months. Loving their debut. Tell me this - we call them braces, you call them suspenders, however, we hold our stockings up (the old fashioned type) with suspenders. What do you call those then?

Garters!!!
DeleteHahaha! Is that it?

Lovely outfit Anna! Love the braces! Tresco in the mist. Not something we want to see a lot of as holidaymakers but it is so softly pretty… Jane E xx
ReplyDeleteHurrah! Lovely to hear from you Jane. Tresco in the mist is indeed not a favourite sight, but perhaps one you can relax and enjoy now that you're home again x

Love that shirt so much, the pattern and colours are lovely, I think it goes really nicely with the trousers and these picas are making me need a holiday! Gemma x
ReplyDeleteThank you Gemma. It was the first time I had put these two together and I was so pleased to see how well they go to together. Result! Great to hear from you again x

I love your mint-with-haze shoot. Those shoes! Wonderful, and to have a matching jacket, what are the odds? This is such a great combo, and you might know I have a weakness for suspenders as well. Funky and colourful, I agree.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I was so over the moon when I found this jacket just weeks after I'd bought the shoes. Matchy-matchy isn't normally my thing, but this was too good to miss. Have posed the suspenders question to Suzanne...

I will probably say this a million times more but you really do have the BEST brogues collection!!!! I adore these!!! Absolutely brilliant AND the braces!!x
ReplyDeleteHow very sweet of you Kezzie x I have another new pair of brogues waiting in the wings. But they are brogues with a twist... I love braces too - aren't they fun!
DeleteAnna x
I do like an Oxford bag and brogues - very 30s look you have going on there, Anna! Love the jacket and blouse, too. xxx
ReplyDeleteI felt I had to counter all that frou-frou over the top girliness with a more masculine twist today Veronica. And I'm never sure what era I'm representing, so thanks for that!

This outfit had me gasping - I completely love it, although to be honest, the jacket is the least of a great group. Those trousers, though...and the suspenders! I'm too booby for 'em, ha!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the jacket. I feel like I ought to love it more, but know it only made the cut because of the colour. Have paired it with a dress more recently which maybe works a bit better though. The braces were a bit of a challenge - did they go inside or outside of the boobs? Even mine got in the way hahaha x

I love the misty background! And the mint in your outfit is wonderful. Beautiful brogues & jacket! And I love the print of your blouse!

The fog is so neat---it makes it look like a horror picture!!
ReplyDeleteI love that mint jacket--I have one in pink almost just like it, that I wear to death!!
As for the suspenders---I can't figure out how to wear them as a women with "chesticles" (as Suzanne calls them)!
