Summer show: 3 of 6

Last night's opening party of the third summer exhibition had to take place without any of the artists present due to various reasons, but as they say "the show must go on" and on it did. The evening was still a success and the artwork looked fantastic. See the featured artists Ellen Watson, Neil Pinkett and Amanda Hoskin's work here in detail. The weather proved to be a mixed bag, but we enjoyed a really lovely evening with a fine turnout considering the blustery wind and showers. In between these we managed to take a few hasty shots.

The breeze played with my lace maxi skirt and I played along with the fun. The evening was coming to an end and I was relieved that it had been a success for all involved - time to have a light hearted moment with the girls. Ruth, Polly and Max were once again worth their weight in gold providing great support throughout.

Next time we will be out in force will be for the 4th summer show which takes place on 6th August. How quickly the summer seems to be slipping past us! My regular readers will not be in the least bit surprised to learn that both my skirt and top were charity shopped. The shoes are from H&M (no longer available, but these are lovely). In addition to my beautiful Michael Kors rose gold watch and Kate Spade rose gold bangle I'm also showcasing two rather special pieces of jewellery from Cornish jeweller Emily Nixon, this seaweed frilly ring and matching bangle in silver and rose gold. 1. Lovely outfit Anna and you look very elegant. Love those shoes, too.

The ring and matching bracelet are very unusual - what a talented artist, she is.

    Have a lovely week

    1. Veronica I really do appreciate your constant support and kind comments. It's great to have a likeminded positive force on my team x I fell in love with the jewellery just a little, but returned it to the display cabinet at the end of the evening with a small sigh of resignation - it's way beyond my budget. Wishing you a lovely week too!

  2. I love this! It is no surprise since about a month ago I bought a full maxi skirt in that exact same colour and wore it with a sleeveless leopard top. LOL We may be on the other side of the ocean but our creative brains think very much alike.

    1. Suzanne this really doesn't surprise me either! I hope I get a chance to see that outfit showcased on your blog soon. I'm sure we could cash in on this creative twinning as a blog feature sometime...

    1. The wind made the whole shoot such fun and I really had no idea how these photos might turn out, but am delighted with all that movement and energy. I just love a swishy maxi. I have more of this length to come for the next couple of shows. And oh, that jewellery is divine, but way out of my budget!

  4. Anna, Just adore your island style! The sheerness of the skirt and top. And the nude heels with it. And I supoose there is a lot of wind on Scilly for you to get out such energetic pictures? Have a great Thursday. Happy to connect. xo from Frankfurt. Sabina

    1. Hey Sabina, welcome and thank you for dropping by! It's a rare day when we don't have a breath of wind, so my photos generally are a tad windswept. Thanks for your feedback and am likewise happy to connect x

  5. This is a really gorgeous ensemble and the fact that you purchased it in a charity shop makes even more amazing. Against the background of your beautiful island home;you should be featured in the next promotional video!!!!
Thankyou for providing the links to your recent gallery exhibition. The artists have a wonderful subject to interpret! I also looked at a few of the featured videos. Oh my, what a little piece paradise!! I want to come RIGHT NOW!!! I even saw a snippet of you, speaking about settling there in one of the videos!
Clearly Anna, I'm a bit envious of what appears to be your fabulous wardrobe, creativity centered profession and the idyllic setting where it all happens.
LOVE your blog and you! :-)

    1. Marilee thank you so much for taking the time to look around the website and getting to know a bit more about island life. I do consider this to be a tiny piece of paradise too and am fortunate to have washed up on these shores all these years ago (38 now I think). I'm delighted you see the extra joy in this outfit being a charity shop scoop as well as appreciating this wonderful backdrop that is my island home. Thank you for joining my team of readers and supporters. Have a wonderful weekend x

  6. Really love the subtle similarities of subject matter of the skirt and top. The top looks like the design is vines and the skirt has the vines and flowers. And the colors of the top and skirt are so unusual but go so well together. You must do a post about your closet because now I'm so curious about what you have in there!

    1. Goodness Julia, I'm sorry I've neglected to answer this from you sooner. My comments alert seems to have failed me recently. I'm glad you saw and liked the patterns on the skirt and top - it was a link that I thought worked really well. My closet is a place of order currently, but is about to be thrown into chaos as I'm going to have my big 6 monthly changeover this weekend. Maybe once I bring it back under control I'll do a feature on it.
